The Law Cafe is KBS’s upcoming series starring Lee Seung Gi and
Lee Se Young. The series is a romantic comedy which has the lead characters as lawyers. But they are not the usual court-going lawyers. Both are former lawyers who have made a career shift.
Lee Seung Gi plays a former prosecutor who is now a building owner. Lee Se Young plays a lawyer whose dream is to own a cafe. A perfect plot for the estranged lovers to meet again. But that seems less exciting and innovative.
The plot is similar to Netflix’s highly successful drama, Our Beloved Summer. Even the characterization seems a bit similar to it. The heroine is the classic Korean drama stereotype of a ‘crazy’ woman which is the main ingredient of rom-coms now-a-days. It does not look like there will be anything new here but the actors are really charming.

The lead actors are sharing screen space for the second time after A Korean Odyssey. They seem to have great chemistry in the trailer. The Law Cafe is going to be a complete entertainer from what we can derive from the trailer.
The Law Cafe will premier on KBS2 and internationally on Viu on September 5.
