The Plot

A high school boy from a poor family uses a magical golden spoon to swap his parents with his rich classmate. Nobody knows about his real identity except him. He only has three chances to go back to his parents: in a month, in a year and in 10 years. There are several rules related to The Golden Spoon which unravels as the episodes progress.

The Screenplay

The screenplay is written so brilliantly with almost no loop holes. All the different storylines are merged together efficiently in the screen play. There are a lot of plot twists and surprises. None of them seemed to be unconvincing due to the genius screenplay. The story is said through the span of thirteen years. Still it was brilliantly executed.

The Performances

There are several mind blowing performances in the drama. Yook Sung Jae and Lee Jong Won were brilliant in their respective roles. But I was taken aback by the mind boggling performance of Yeonwoo as Oh Yu Jin. All the supporting cast were also excellent in playing their roles. I should also mention the phenomenal performance of Choi Dae Chul as Lee Seungcheon’s (Yook Sung Jae) father.

Underwhelming Facts

I was not so impressed by the ending of ‘The Golden Spoon’. The story was good till the end. I would have loved if the story ended a little more happier. One thing I found funny was that the characters have not aged a day when the story was fast-forwarded to 10 years. They could have made some changes in the appearances of actors.

The Golden Spoon will be a good watch for any one who is interested in innovative plot and storyline. I would recommend for everyone to watch it.
