The Woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window: A genuine spoof of murder mysteries

Netflix’s series The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window is a humorous spoof on murder mysteries. The protagonist Anna investigates a murder which occurred in the house across the street. The accidental discovery of the important evidence in the murder mysteries is represented humorously in the series.

Anna possesses all the qualities to become an investigator in a murder mystery thriller. She has a traumatic past, a phobia of something, psychological issues and the most famous alcohol problem. Besides that, her main hobby is looking through the window of her neighbor all day long. Amidst all of her issues, she still manages to think rationally and discover the murderer all on her own.

The series mocks the unbelievable ‘surprises’ in the mystery crime thrillers we have watched. The scene in which Anna crawls through the road to protect her neighbour’s daughter in rain was hilarious to watch. The series hooks the audience till the end to discover the truth. As a parody of mystery crime thrillers, this series did a pretty good job. Kristen Bell who played the role of Anna did a good job as well.

Last but not least the theme music and the background score were engaging and frightening. Also, cinematography played a huge role in maintaining the mystery and humour throughout the series. If you are interested in dark comedy or satire, this series is a good one-time watcher.
