The Warp Effect is an upcoming series by GMMTV starring
New Thitipoom Techa-apaikhun and Fah Yongwaree Anilbol. The series is helmed by Jojo Tichakorn Phukhaotong, Game Kirati Kumsat, Chim Sedthawut Inboon and Ninew Pinya Chookamsri. These are my thoughts on the trailer of The Warp Effect.
The Warp Effect is a multi-starrer romantic comedy/ fantasy. From the trailer, it looks like the main character wakes up to be in ten years in future. It is also kind of like an alternate universe where everything seems different but for the wrong reasons.
The subject seems interesting but it looks like there is too much to unpack here. There is so much going on. Comedy element seems to be on point and the high moments on the trailer have to be of the scenes of Sing Harit Cheewagaroon and Jan Ployshompoo Supasap.
The series could also be inherently a coming-of-age story said in an interesting arc. The protagonist needs to unfold his past to understand his future. That is such a unique conception of the whole genre.
Overall, The Warp Effect looks like a complete comedy entertainer with an out of the box treatment. The series airs on Dec 12 on GMM 25.
