Netflix series Boo, Bitch Offers Nothing New to the Viewers

Netflix’s new series Boo, Bitch offers nothing new than other high school series we have recently seen. The protagonist is a typical nerd with a huge crush on the most handsome boy in the school. The boy also secretly notices this quiet kid out of nowhere and develops an attraction toward her. It is an entertainer but is not a classic one like Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. The plot of the series was good. The characterisation of the protagonist Erika Vu is so irrational and irritating.

The outline of the series was interesting. So, I was expecting something fresh. Not only that it is not fresh but it uses the same old techniques to grab audiences’ attention. The sudden change in Erika Vu’s character was irrational and unacceptable. The non-attention-seeking quiet kid suddenly became the typical bitch of the high school and changed back to her normal self after hitting rock bottom. Well, I could not buy it. The stupidest scene in the series was the accident scene. I was surprised to see how someone could think and execute a very planned action just a few seconds before the accident.  The so-called shocking plot twist did not seem to be that shocking for me. The emotional ending of the season was rather lame than heart-breaking.

Lana Condor and Zoe Margaret Colletti who have portrayed the major characters have done a pretty good job. Other actors have also performed well in the series. The casting is a good aspect of the series. The music and background score are also good. The beginning of the series is excellent. The first few episodes were also good. However, the series tends to lose its quality from the middle episodes till the final episode. The final episode was a complete letdown for me.
