Dangerous Romance is an upcoming Thai language BL series to be released in 2023. It has a really interesting duo of actors playing the lead roles which are Chimon Wachirawit Ruangwiwat and Perth Tanapon Sukumpantanasan. Here are my thoughts on the trailer of Dangerous Romance.
The series has two directors: Lit Phadung Samajarn who is famous for Love Mechanics and My Engineer (one of the genre defining series) and Worawut Thanamatchaicharoen. The storyline is not anything new; it follows the same old enemies-to-lovers trope. Bits of the trailer reminded me of the insanely popular Bad Buddy the Series.
The Actors
Now, let us talk about the actors. Chimon is probably one of the most talented young actors in GMMTV. I saw him previously in The Player in which again he played the role of a poor delivery boy. It was an ensemble series with all complex characters and Chimon delivered a mind blowingly nuanced performance there. And I also feel like he is criminally underrated.
Dangerous Romance is probably his first full fledged role in a BL series (correct me if I am wrong). But the actor is very promising and he could be the sole reason for you to watch this series. He has a really charming screen presence. Here too, he plays a poor boy.
Perth is one of the most loved BL actors. He has a great following after Love by Chance. Dangerous Romance is his first series in a main role under GMMTV. But we enjoyed the little guest appearance he had in Vice Versa.
There are some incredible moments in the trailer which could make you want to watch the series. But a major issue is that chemistry was lacking between the actors. I am definitely sold otherwise. Anyway, it is too soon to judge.
