The trailers of the most anticipated super webtoon project of Kakaopage, The Villainess is a Marionette have released and it is nothing but a visual spectacle. The actors Han So-hee, Lee Soo-hyuk and Cha Eun-woo look ethereal in the trailers. Especially, Han So-hee is alluringly beautiful. This is not a K-drama and the actors are cosplaying as the characters from the webtoon.

These are dramatic promotional trailers of the webtoon by Kakaopage. Newbies like me might be wondering what it is. Kakaopage is a Korean content platform for mobile devices which produces manhwa (Korean for comics and cartoons including webtoons. You might know this if you have watched the K-drama W) and genre fiction.
The three trailers are for the three characters Princess Kayena, Prince Regef and Duke Kidrey are cosplayed by Han So-hee, Lee Soo-hyuk and Cha Eun-woo respectively. The webcomic with almost 59 released chapters has some thirty million global fans.
The storyline echoes the classic play by John Webster called Duchess of Malfi. But Princess Kayena is not as naive as the duchess in the play. We will have to wait to see if there is any influence at all. The trailers look extremely promising. Lee Soo-hyuk really stood out as Prince Regef for me.
The dramatic trailers definitely raises more than just curiosity especially since they do not give away anything. The characters seem enigmatic and complicated. I am definitely sold.
