Young Royals is probably one of the best love stories I have ever seen. While the back born of the series is the love story of Wilhelm and Simon, it was not the usual high school romance. It had extremely flawed yet relatable characters, and we saw a lot against the set standards of the society. Netflix has now released the first four minutes of season 2 of Young Royals. The mood here seems serious and darker.
Young Royals is a Swedish series created by Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung and Camilla Holter. It premiered in July 2021 on Netflix and has had a huge following since. The series rightfully deserved all the praise for breaking the stereotypes, especially in beauty standards. It stars Edvin Ryding, Omar Rudberg, Malte Gårdinger, Frida Argento, and Nikita Uggla.
It tells the story of a fictional Prince Wilhelm, the way he adjusts himself in his new school and his romance with a fellow schoolmate Simon. The series discusses class differences, teenage conflicts, agony, turmoil and pain that teenagers go through. Young Royals is a comin-of-age drama which is beyond the high school romance. So, what might be the characters dealing with in season 2?
In the glimpse released by Netflix, we see Wilhelm suffering in the memories of Simon, not being able to move on. We also see August apologizing constantly through messages only to be aware of Wilhelm’s anger and thirst for revenge. We do not know anything about Simon, but a new character named Marcus is introduced.
The expectations are high for season 2. The first four minutes do not let down and promises more intensity and drama. Season 2 will be released on Netflix on November 1.
