The trailer of upcoming K-drama Yonder is intriguing. It tells a love story but has got a very unique concept. It is adapted from the novel Goodbye, Yonder by Kim Jang Hwan. Director of Yonder is Lee Joon Ik and screenplay is by Oh Seung Hyun. The trailer shows that it is about eternal life and love.
Yonder is set in a futuristic South Korea of the 2040s. There are quite so many gems of K-dramas when it comes to dealing with unique sci-fi or fantasy driven elements. That sets the bar so high for Yonder. And the concept looks extremely promising.
Yonder stars Shin Ha Kyun who is popular for his previous dramas like Beyond Evil for which he won Baeksang Arts Award for Best actor. It also stars Han Ji Min (Familiar Wife), Jung Jin Young and Lee Jung Eun.
The series tells the story of a grief-stricken widower who leaves his body to to live in a fantasy world, eternally, with the love of his life. It is a world where there is no death. Yonder raises questions about existence, eternity, death and other abstract elements which are unfathomable in human realm.
Yonder will have its premier in October this year.
