Bad Girlfriend K-Drama Initial Review: What Happens when a Woman Becomes a Casanova.

What if Taylor Swift’s Blank Space character comes to life minus insanity? That exactly is Yang Ji Soo in Bad Girlfriend. She gets any man she wants and ruthlessly rejects them when she loses interest. As Swift’s famous lyric goes, she is “a nightmare dressed like a daydream.”

But there are some differences between Swift’s character and Ji soo here. Ji soo is very scheming in making any men fall for her. She is not crazy but that is just the way she is. But it seems like there is more to what she does as can be derived from the first two episodes. And it could turn out to be about just another woman, changing herself when she finds her true love (the potential true love could be her best friend). But I hope that is not the case.

She is juggling with two men at the same time and she cannot choose just one because she loves them both. She is extremely beautiful with an innocent smile. She is even kind to her co-workers and everyone adores her. In the first scene itself where she rejects her current lover, she is dressed in white and looks as pure as she can be. Her appearance is an interesting contrast to her character. To use the adjectives used in the show itself, she is a bad woman/ bitch.

The actors have done a good job so far and there are very few people in the cast. The writing and execution does not have anything new to offer. But Bad Girlfriend seems like an enjoyable, light-hearted flick.
